Depart Russell at 10.00am for Te Rawhiti and an experience to remember!
A formal Maori welcome (Pōwhiri) awaits you on arrival. Lots of talking and interaction will take place before food (kai) is served. Following lunch activities, we take an historic walk taking in breathtaking views of the Bay of Islands. We visit the local historic Marae (Meeting house), cook seafood (kai moana) using traditional Maori methods.
Learn about the use of native flora and fauna for Maori medicinal purposes. Your hosts want to get to know you and will love to answer any questions you may have.
Before departing you have an opportunity to say special farewells the Maori way, with singing and laughter. With tummies full and tears flowing we depart for Russell.
